Let the Nail Tearing Begin...

This morning, after I drink a motivating pot of Postum, and I've taken a few deep breaths, I will put my baby (well, a query letter and the first 50 pages) into the mail, to submit to my dream publisher.
Unfortunately, they do everything by snail, and it will be 8-10 weeks for a response from them. So, we're looking at, roughly, the first week of NOVEMBER at the earliest, that I would hear from them.

Eight weeks of nail-tearing torture. I say tear, only because I never BITE...I tear them off. Yeah, it's still a bad habit. My cuticles, however, look fabulous.
Hopefully my query letter was kick-butt enough. I think it captures the essence of the novel. So, we'll see!

I have to mow the lawn today. Hubby has been mowing it, so it's been nice. But don't worry, I've found yet ANOTHER reason why I'm rubbish at lawn care.

I thought I'd be all clever and run around spot-spraying the weeds in our side yard. So, I got the weed killer, and very carefully shot just a little into the middle of each weed. THEN I read the label:

"Do not use this product to spot-treat weeds in lawns, as it is a GRASS KILLER as well as a weed killer."

I haven't said one word. I'm waiting for Hubby to see the sideyard and freak out. The weeds ARE dying, though...

Best of luck! I'm confident this is "the one."

Give yourself a day or two off, and then start another book. That's the best way to quiet the submission nerves.

Awesome! That's all that matters, right?

Count me in as having my fingers crossed for your submission.

Fingers crossed.

Trim your nails short, open a new file, type, "Chapter One." Those eight weeks will FLY BY.
