In the Right Place at the Right Time!

I had the CRAZIEST thing happen yesterday. I was in the parking lot at Walmart, loading bags into the back of my car, and I notice a truck backing up, behind me. I immediately notice something wrong: There's no one in the truck! And it was picking up speed as it rolled out. It was headed right for this white car, and I knew if it hit, it wouldn't leave a tiny dent, like a shopping cart. There was a guy, paused in the lane, waiting for the truck to back out, thinking it was occupied, and I yelled over at him "There's no one in that truck!" and he immediately ran forward and braced himself against the truck as it rolled back, and he couldn't stop it, and I ran forward and grabbed on as well, and we STOPPED IT. About a half inch (and I'm not kidding) away from hitting the white car. It never even touched it. Talk about a miracle! He asked me if the driver side door was unlocked, and it was, so we pushed the car back into it's parking spot, I had one hand on the wheel, guiding it in, and once we got it put back, I pushed the parking brake down with my foot and closed the door.

I gave him a high five and we both agreed it was lucky we were there. Crazy, huh? I'm sure the driver of the white car, whoever they are, would have freaked out, had they known how close they came to having the back of their car dented in!

I'm sure the Walmart security camera people were watching us wondering what the heck we were doing! ;-)

I mowed the weeds yesterday. When they put our sod in our yard, it was during a crazy hot week and it baked to death. About 3/4ths of our lawn hasn't come back, despite our best efforts at fertilizing and watering. So, thank heaven we got it in writing with the builder that they would replace any sod that "didn't come back." They're doing it next week. Whew.

Time to get the kids off to school! Happy Tuesday!

You're a HERO! I hope you left a note or something for the truck owner.
